2018 Chicago Tiny Home Show

Special thanks go out to Titan Tiny Homes for inviting Chicago Tiny House, Inc. to its 2018 Chicago Tiny Home Show. Members of our group will be present all weekend with T-Shirts as well as networking materials as we look to to establish new friends in the field. We look forward the event and thank Titan Tiny Homes for hosting this event. We ask all our supporters to come out and see these revolutionary homes already in existence and to meet people in our field.

From Titantinyhomes.com:

For those who have considered building or living in a tiny house, this is the must-attend event of the year. Attendees will learn everything they ever wanted to know about the tiny house movement and they will have a great time exploring their options. From young to old, participants will find something for everyone at this event.

Over Mother’s Day weekend, 2018, tiny home builders, vendors, and suppliers are gearing up for the first national event put on by highly coveted builder, Titan Tiny Homes. Attendees won’t want to miss a moment of this must-see extravaganza. It is slated to be an enjoyable day for the whole family to experience the latest developments up close and connect with like-minded individuals who are also interested in the tiny house movement.

Event host, Titan Tiny Homes, will showcase a diverse array of houses from various builders around the country. Participants will learn how tiny houses are unique and can be fully customized to the purchaser’s wants, needs, and requirements. Builders and designers will be on hand to answer questions.

This weekend tour will help would-be buyers to find their own dream house and also possibly enjoy some great food while listening to speakers from around the tiny house movement. Live music should add a festive flair to the goings on throughout. Attendees are invited to bring along questions, ideas, and avail themselves of the vast resources on hand to plan their own ideal tiny house experience. As a family-friendly event, children are invited alongside their parents to explore the different options open to attendees. With the advent of tiny houses, families have found it possible to reside in their tiny houses.

“I’ve had the pleasure of attending many tiny home shows all over the United States and really wanted to bring the first Tiny Home Show to Chicago because I know how special an event like this can be,” said Titan Tiny Homes founder, Bob Clarizio.

According to the website for the event, new details will be added in the coming weeks prior to the show so attendees can plan their entire day around the educational and entertainment offerings. There will be keynote speakers who can address questions on a host of topics, live entertainment, and much more.

In honor of Mother’s Day and all of the mothers out there, admission will be free for all moms who are attending with their children under 3 years of age!

The event venue is located just 30 minutes from Downtown Chicago at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium, 1999 Springinsguth Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60193

Over 20 Tiny Houses will be on display over the 3-day weekend. Each house has its own unique design that provides plenty of ideas and potential options for visitors to spark design ingenuity or, conversely, streamline the process with an already-perfect choice.

To alleviate concerns about parking, patrons can rest assured that with the Metra Rail Line only 940 feet from the front gates, transit in and out of the ballpark will be easy. Attendees opting to drive will have access to a nearby parking lot to ensure that anyone and everyone can get to where they are going without a hassle.

The show for 2018 Chicago Tiny Homes is being held on Friday, May 11th Through Sunday, May 13th, and the gates at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium open at 10:00 am and close at 8:00 pm daily. Tickets are available on the website for $15. For those who are considering downsizing, or those who have already begun, this event will show them how it’s done. Whether show attendees are already living in a tiny house or planning to move to one soon, they can anticipate learning all sorts of valuable tips.

Event exhibitors are planning to teach how the tiny house lifestyle works, how to downsize, how others are doing it successfully, and what it takes to get started. With the growing popularity of tiny houses, attendees will be afforded a unique experience that they are likely to cherish while riding the wave of a new phenomenon. Chicago Tiny House T-Shirt Sale!

Chicago Tiny House T-Shirt Sale!

We’re having a t-shirt sale this month!

All proceeds help fund the building of our tiny house prototype! Building an example of a tiny house is our first priority. We need this in order for people to get a better understanding of what they look like and how the interior layout is designed. This will help people know what they are giving towards. All of our tiny houses will be handicap accessible which is incredibly important to us.

Our first project will be geared towards housing vets in tiny houses. We have a number of social service organizations who have agreed to help us with support services and financial backing.

Statistics on Homeless Veterans

In April 2017, the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless released an analysis of how many Chicagoans are homeless, per the 2015 census: 82,212.

Chicago reported the largest increase in veteran homelessness between 2009 and 2016, a 20.2% increase, up by 101 people. The city reported that 10.2% of those who were homeless in 2016 were veterans, up from 7% in 2015 and 9% in 2014.

This information came from the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless in their FAQ section. The demographics are astonishing. There has been a decrease overall in homelessness in Chicago, but the number of homeless veterans is rising steadily. Take some time and visit the CCH website. It keeps up with the latest statistics and provides a number of resources.

Every t-shirt sold goes toward helping a vet find a home.

Chicago Tiny House Fundraiser

We are hosting our first fundraiser in 12 days! We will have a special guest, refreshments, live music, raffles, and more!

In order to procure the funds we need to launch our Tiny House Community project, we first have to build a physical prototype to give potential donors a walk-through experience of what we’re asking them to invest in.

We are asking you to be a part of this mission by joining us at our event, inviting your friends, sharing our project with people, and considering supporting us financially with a monetary gift. We are focusing on building a Tiny House Community for veterans for our first project.

This is Who We Are

This is Who We Are

Last night I helped a friend move and what I saw afterwards affirmed the desperate need for what we are fighting for. In the space of five minutes two homeless residents passed me by and one camped out in the windbreak of our building, with just a sleeping bag on cold concrete. It strengthens my will to do the right thing. I pray that by seeing this post more will join our project to get these individuals housed and supported. Tiny Houses may not be a perfect solution but it’s one solution.

The city has asked for help to resolve the issue of chronic homelessness and we have responded. They can’t say we’re not trying. We are against gentrification. We are against hiding our homeless. We believe taking care of homeless residents doesn’t reduce housing pricing. We aren’t afraid to help the homeless and by God we’re not going to let them die in the elements because they made bad life choices.

We have put together a viable solution that will help educate, protect, and serve our homeless residents no matter who and where they are. This is what we have come up with, this is what we are promoting, this is what we are volunteering our time for, this is what we care about. I am just one man, but I say that if we band together we will make a difference. I am a man with hope for the future and a man with friends who share this vision to improve our great city.

Our goal is to provide a complete outreach program through Tiny House Communities. We have a solution, Chicago. Embrace change with us.
